Dynamic

I have thought long and hard, ok maybe not, but i have thought about what is it that makes me love a game and replay it, is it it's beauty, it's fluidity of play, or it's innovativeness. (i know i'm off topic i'll get to it soon) But the answer to these caused me to come to a great realisation, that i may have expressed in other posts.

Dynamic, everything has to be dynamic, not simply a series of identical movements and attacks but having a tiny variation on each mixing things up and making the game stunning to look at as well as how this could effect combat. No longer would you see 2 units hitting each other in identical ways, lets face it we haven't come far from Age of empires 1 as far as combat goes, even recent games such as Dawn of War 2, whilst they have special attacks they are the same and get tiresome after some time and kill animations, which are amazing when you havent seen a kill animation that hits you in the face and amazes you. However this is not dynamic as the same animations are used over and over, for example today i was playing Dawn of War 2 and had a moment that made my jaw drop and had me awe struck for almost 2 hours, when i saw a truly amazing kill animation that i didn't even know existed, but then i was bored afterwards as i saw the same unit do the same thing to the next thing they attacked. Sneaking something like this in is all well and good and makes you want to play it to find out something else you haven't seen in a game, but making this dynamic where every kill animation is different and has a slight variation in a slight variation would truly make the game blow your mind when it comes to that moment where you see something you have never seen before and absolutely love it.

Second: Dynamic movement, well this game is sure to be innovative, the fact that you even take fan advice is just amazing and will ensure a large and richly diverse community (Stay on topic right). anyway we know how units move and we know that creating fluid unit movements can look amazing and that seeing a huge unit 'float' on it's feet, kinda likea galactic colossus, you see it move forward but it's head never moves, you have made in roads with this in what i have seen of supcom 2. But take it to the next level and create units that slip and fall on difficult terrain and will run in an urgent manor to catch up to their army, or a single unit falling that will affect a large group of others. also see a huge unit not only crush the ground it walks on but also see it snort and react to a drivers movement and have say a dragon making slight variations as it adjusts to different air conditions, the player would not see the air move but having a dragon with wings alterring ever so slightly as it flies would be truly awe inspiring.

To much typing, Thank you for the chance to post my thoughts, would love to see more blogs and more of the game that 'we' the community affects.|||beauty and dynamics. no doubt.
