[:1]If you recall reading Mc beth, one of the signs that the three witches predicted for his downfall was that a forest would move, which is impossible without magic (another idea there) but using the branches of trees to hide your numbers is a very clever idea.
A utility unit that has a reasonable-sized area-stealth and area-cloak but doesn't affect itself. specifics will need tweaking but you can use this to lure out your enemy with fake armies composed of just a few military units a a bunch of these "branch carriers", while another group of units with fewer branch carriers leads the main assault. No need for magic, hotkeys, abilities, or anything like that.|||Just posting another idea: Maybe some type of mage could spawn a group of trees for a certain mana cost, to use as vision cover or watever to use it for.
but I like that idea.|||Yup, some kind of stealth would be great.|||Decoy armies would be awesome. Other types of stealth --- like spies would also add a lot of fun.|||Stealth would be great, but i hope they dont do it so a unit is just stealthed. As the OP kind of said, needing to use the environment for stealth would be a better way!
So trees, long grass. Maybe even animal skins and making your army look like animals roaming through the field...|||I like the idea of having stealth as something more visually interesting than just units being invisible, and I like your attempt at working shakespeare into your suggestion|||Yes to summonable forests that block line of sight.
(btw, Yes to a line-of-sight system instead of the simplistic 'vision circles').
That would be very cool.
