Very big castles

Quote:|||i agree. this should be a big-build game. we've played too many games that rely on chincy little builds. we drop a castle, and it's constructed as one block. LoR had the option of adding defensive structures to your castle, which was the right idea, but it was extremely elementary. picture that same idea on a brute scale of monstrosity. :)

countless building blocks is what we really need. tons of additions and construction options.

bigger, badder, better.

Image|||Great idea.|||completly agree|||I have to say this idea is fascinating. The idea that the map is modified and extended as the game progresses. I'm not sure exactly how that doesn't become a Castle Sim. But still, the idea is so intriguing I hope they look into it. It may be that two opposing sides have different roles. One is the besieger and the other owns the castle. But there may be other ways to bring people out and fight.

But even with a more open field back and forth battle type of play, imagine if you could construct things that would massively alter the map. Build your own choke points. Build a bridge to nowhere. Bridge that fjord in the corner of the map while your distracting your enemies with frontal feints.|||I'd like it if at least one of the fractions was more nature oriented and didn't have as many/as big of castles as the others. Or maybe their castles was more underground integrated with caves and such. maybe they are simpky have more stories and compacted so they don't have to destroy as much wilderness to creat them compared to the other fractions whise castles would spread out more. I don;t know i just know i want a zhonesque fraction even thought i know this won't be TA Kingdoms 2 i want it to have a zhon feel to it any ways.|||I'd love this idea. It would have to stick mainly with adding extra walls, defenses, towers, and unit production buildings, to keep it from becoming to much of a castle sim. But you should be able to build your castle as large as you want, with unit production facilities being able to be incorporated into sections of it (ala Stronghold 2), or placed alone, further toward the fight.

I would also like to see, provided there are upgrades, that upgrades have an animation to show they are being upgraded. For example, if you upgrade from wooden walls to stone, you would see workers tearing down the wood walls and rebuilding them with stone. This would also give a period of vulnerability, so it is not just "upgrade! upgrade! upgrade!" You have to put thought into whether you are ready to, and whether you can make up for the vulnerability while the walls are being rebuilt. They should also be rebuilt heading from your castle outwards, so the further they are from the castle, the later they will be torn down and rebuilt. The more walls you have the longer it will take to upgrade. You could also possibly build structures that would act as other "headquarters" for upgrading, and would speed up the process by adding more "buildpower" to the job.|||Totally agree. Maintaining scale, or close to it would be nice. Most games are usually totally off scale which can be annoying.
