It is a very unique design, and one that i think would be great to see ingame
tell me what you think?|||I'll take an Old Fashioned Trebuchet that looks exactly like you'd expect it to of that any day.
Mike|||DaVinci made a lot of funky designs, I especially like his "Helicopter"
Anyhow, I'm all for offering some not so realistic designs like his, might offer some diversity over the standard designs seen everywhere else.
I'm not always thrilled to see almost modern age contraptions which were clearly made to resemble modern technology in fantasy games.|||If all the gears and whatnot moved as it fired, that would be awesome. Imagine if it was this huge contraption, with all the gears moving separately, until it was ready to fire, and then it stops...
...and whoosh!
Who needs realism in a fantasy RTS
The horseshoe is actually the energy source, and it works like a crossbow, except it doesn't propel a bolt or arrow, but is transferred into rotational energy, which itself then propels the long arm and the rock on it.
It is a very clever design, but i have no idea if its comparable to a trebuchet or not as there are too many variables in the design.
Would make an interesting siege machine though.|||I love the design. You will find standard catapults and trebuchets in a lot of fantasy/medieval games but this is unique. Might even make nice Legendary Unit! =P|||A bucket won't work; it'll need a sling, otherwise it'll drive the shot directly into the ground thirty feet in front of it.|||Da Vinci.. hats off; indeed.
Although as an unit in the game its box does not look too appropiate to me.|||Lol.. I'm eating my hat because of this... can you pass me the sal, plz ?
And I agree that this looks a lot cooler and funkier, and probably more in line with the fantasy style of the game then a hyper realistic trebuchet or catapult. After all, this thing will be firing next to a giant boar with a house on its back.
