hearing your enemys

[:1]say your forcers are in hilly terrain and cant see very far but could instead hear your enemys forces approaching.
Your enemy would have the chioce to either rush in getting there faster but creating more noise, or sneak in by moving slower and making less noise. then charging at the enemy when they are closer. :P
the hearing would act simmilar to radar but wouldn't show the enemys position, but would show that they were there. the moving slower would act like stealth.
I'm not sure if this would work but wouldn't the maps be able to be divided up and be categorised dapending on their terrain, i.e. plains, forrest, hills, or forresty hills. soldiers line of sight would be increased or decreased depending on the type of aea they are in. Flying units wouldn't be able to hear the enemy or be affected by hills unless they were realy high, and wouldn't be able to see or hear anything in trees. 8)
Note this is for the faction that doesn't have magic. If there is one.|||Would be a good thing imo.
Just love the though of sneaking onto an opponent and when maybe ten meters away charge them and cut them to pieces.|||Peacebreaker|||Perhaps a replacement for radar? Rather than radar, there's hearing, so when something is moving, some of your units can hear them. But then there can be units who specialize in stealth and quiet movements like Peacebreaker said.|||bring the ninjas :p really cool idea makes me think of the mortars in the first cossacks epicly annoying :p quiet bangs in the distance en a little later bricks everywhere :d loved it
