Randomly generated maps can provide for unpredictable strategic concerns - a feature that is typically only provided by your opponent's unit-builds in many RTS games.
A random-map generator should also include options for a player to tailor a map's quantities and types of elements including but not limited to geography, resources, neutral elements, etc. Basic parameters would include size, number of players, etc.
Unique resources, locations, allies, neutrals can result in randomizations that will actually define a player's opening strategy.
Replayability goes without saying.|||If the method used to create maps is unchanged from Demigod/SC2, such a system is 99.9% impossible.
