[:1]I don't know if this has been done before or not. Some units, weaker ones in particular, should be given a bonus if they are massed in large enough groups. The thinking is that if an untrained Carpenter is forced to pick up a sword and go fight other people then he would be weak and scared, limiting his abilities and strength, hence it being a weak unit. But if a Carpenter is surrounded by hordes of other people, all cheering and charging into battle he is most likely going to be less frightened and swept up into the crowd mentality, making it stronger and more powerful giving it more use in the later game while in numbers. This shouldn't be applied to all units however. A veteran knight has his mind set and he is sure of his abilities and he knows how to use his sword, therefore he doesn't suffer from weakness, but also doesn't gain any benefits from groups.|||I like this idea.|||You would need some form of morale implementation for it though, i wouldn't like to see soldiers get attack bonuses etc for being many, since they already the advantage of being many.|||No thanks; having a large mass of units should have it's own benefits without the need for 'mob' bonuses.
A carpenter with a sword may not be as scared as he would be on his own, but he is still only a carpenter.
I think it would promote a stronger tank-blob situation than in Sup2 (which is something we don't want).
